A proposal for Planet Fitness · from Get Lucky Golf

A golf sim inevery Planet Fitness club. Not a rand of your capital.

72 Golfzon™ bays in 42 Planet Fitness clubs, booked like padel. Get Lucky Golf buys it. RMB or the bank you prefer finances it. We run it. Planet Fitness gives the room and the members, and takes 20% of every rand.

72 bays · 42 clubs · R14 million a year to Planet Fitness · zero capex · proudly South African

Chapter one

The member.

Padel proved it. Give members a game and the courts fill at R400 an hour. You already send members to the court through Planet Padel Club.

Golf is the bigger game, and it is getting younger. 47 million juniors play worldwide, up 3.2 million in a year, six times the growth in adults.

The courses cannot take them. Tee sheets are full, the best clubs are private, and the game stops at dusk. So the sim belongs in the gym they already go to three times a week.

Gym, then an hour on the sim, then recovery. That is the routine we want to build.

What a golf sim does for a club

  • Chiswick is the case study.Virgin Active's refurbished Chiswick Riverside club in London, simulator bay included, lifted membership 15%, revenue 23% and more than doubled EBITDA.
  • One in three members leaves a gym every year.Industry retention is 66%, and the top reason for leaving is not visiting enough to justify the fee. A booked bay gets them through the door.
  • Half of simulator players are not golfers.51% of the 8.1 million Americans playing on simulators never play on a course. The sim sells to members who have never held a club.

This is the sim

Two bays. 60 m². Booked by the hour.

Golfzon™ TwoVision. The same bay in 13,000 venues worldwide, and the official simulator of the U.S. Open. It fits where a studio fits.

The offer

We bring the bays. You bring the members.

A ten-year exclusive concession. Get Lucky Golf buys, installs and runs the bays. RMB finances them, or the bank you prefer.

Planet Fitness provides the room and the members, and takes 20% of everything the bays earn.

Planet Fitness

Puts in

The room. Two bays (60 m²) in 30 clubs, one bay (30 m²) in 12 smaller clubs, inside refurbishments and the five new clubs a year. The members. Booking in the Planet Fitness app, marketing to members. Ten-year exclusive.

Gets out

R14 million a year at maturity. No capital, no operating risk. A golf add-on on the member bill. The sim in the drawings of every club you open to 2030.

Get Lucky Golf

Puts in

Everything inside the wall. The bays, the equity, Golfzon™, a founding partner you will recognise (more on that further down), coaching, leagues, the insured shot, and a golf host in every Signature club. We run it.

Gets out

An operating business of 72 bays, and the reference sim for every new Planet Fitness club.

RMB

Puts in

Asset finance for the equipment, drawn in three phases, secured over the bays and the concession. RMB has already seen the model. If Planet Fitness has a house bank, we are open to it.

Gets out

The bays pay the loan back from bookings. Planet Fitness never carries the debt.

Two terms are yours to negotiate.

We open at 20% of bay revenue, with Planet Fitness building the shell inside its refurbishments and new builds. Both posts move. A bigger share, or us building the shell, still works for us and for RMB. We are not precious about the number. We want a deal that works for both of us.

Who we are

Get Lucky Golf.

South Africa's insured hole-in-one challenge. A swing at a par-3 for up to R1,000,000, live at 30 courses, underwritten and sponsored by Santam. Planet Golf is the concept we are proposing: your brand, our bays.

Proudly South African, like you. You started with one gym in Joburg. We started with one par-3. We know what it takes to build something here, and we would rather do this with a South African partner than a global brand that has to phone head office.
